When I was in high school and college, no Christians could answer the questions I had, and no one had clearly explained that the Gospel was not about being a good person. I helped found Engage 360 to be a catalyst for movements in churches and communities where Christians know how to efficiently and effectively share their faith
Matt has a Masters in Philosophy and Theology from Southern Evangelical Seminary. His passion for helping Christians know how to answer questions, give good reasons for their faith, and know how to share the Gospel comes from his own experience as an atheist coming to faith in Christ over a 3-year period in college, but not having Christians who were able to help him along. Matt has been involved in various ministries over the past 12 years and has taught and ministered throughout the US and Internationally. Whether in Nebraska, Maine, Italy, or South Africa, Matt has found that with some basic training Christians can effectively share their faith with almost anyone.
I am an introvert and never thought I would be excited about sharing my faith. If I can do it, so can you, and that’s why I am excited to teach this course and get to know each of you!
While the large majority of my life has been spent in ministry, I consider myself an ordinary kind of guy when it comes to evangelism. While still anxious when faced with opportunities, I’ve worked through these challenges and look forward to helping you become more comfortable and confident with the opportunities you have.
Bob’s training and ministry experience is in missions, both international and US based. After formal missionary training he and his wife Becky spent 24 years serving with Ethnos360 (formerly New Tribes Mission) in the Philippines, focused on tribal evangelism and church planting, then field administration and leadership. In 2003 he transitioned to serving as an associate pastor in Southern California, where he served for the next 13 years. Bob is passionate about helping people grow in their relationship with Christ and in learning how to effectively share their faith with others.
True confession: I love standing in front of a group of college students and being peppered with questions. Does that make me weird? It’s not that I like to argue. I’m just excited at the opportunity the questions bring to commend Jesus. I want to share some of that excitement with you.
